FX has unveiled the full trailer for Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, a new limited series streaming on Hulu from February 12, 2026. Produced by Ryan Murphy, the show is the first installment in the Love Story anthology and promises passion, power, and paparazzi-fueled drama. The trailer opens with the striking line, “Every story needs an angle. A happy couple doesn’t sell papers,” setting the tone for a romance lived under relentless public scrutiny.
Inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, the series chronicles the whirlwind courtship and high-profile marriage of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. Paul Kelly plays the American heir-turned-media icon, while Sarah Pidgeon stars as the fiercely independent fashion executive whose minimalist style and quiet confidence made her a global obsession. Together, their chemistry anchors a story described as “a love that captivated the nation.”
The narrative dives deep into the contrast between public fantasy and private reality. He was American royalty, watched by the nation since childhood. She rose from retail to executive status at Calvin Klein, becoming a trusted confidante of the brand’s founder. As fame intensified, the pressure of constant media attention threatened to fracture their deeply personal bond, turning romance into spectacle.
Backing the central duo is a heavyweight ensemble cast. Naomi Watts steps into the role of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, while Grace Gummer portrays Caroline Kennedy. The series also stars Alessandro Nivola as Calvin Klein, Leila George as Kelly Klein, Sydney Lemmon as Lauren Bessette, Noah Fearnley as Michael Bergin, Omari K. Chancellor as Gordon Henderson, and Constance Zimmer as Ann Messina Freeman, alongside Erich Bergen and Michael Nathanson.
Created by Connor Hines, with writing contributions from Juli Weiner, D.V. DeVincentis, and Kim Rosenstock, Love Story bears all the hallmarks of a Ryan Murphy production—lush visuals, heightened emotion, and intense sensual drama. With over-saturated colors and an unflinching look at fame’s darker edges, the series aims to chart the heartbreaking journey of a couple whose private love became a national obsession.
